Police is all set to question Wipro
BPO officials to detail the sequence
of events leading to rape and murder
of Jyotikumari Choudhary, an employee
of the firm. The investigating
officers would be drafting questions
in consultation with legal advisers to
fix the responsibility for the alleged
negligence shown by the company
officials, Superintendent of Police
(Rural) Vishwas Nangre Patil said.
"It
is an exercises to track down
officials who, apparently, did not
bother to find out about the girl's
failure to report for night shift on
November one - when she was allegedly
raped and murdered," Patil said.
The 22-year-old executive's body, with
injury marks suggesting rape, was
recovered after two days from a field
on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.
Patil, however, clarified that the
accused driver Purushottam Borate had
no criminal past.
Borate drove the girl to office at
Hinjewadi for three consecutive days,
which was against the company's
practice of changing the cab and the
worker to be picked up on route every
day for security reasons, he added.
Meanwhile, parents of the deceased
girl met Maharashtra Director General
of Police P S Pasricha yesterday and
pleaded for a speedy probe into her
death and punishment for culprits.
