Chandel
said, "The objective of the event is
to bring both, amateur and
professional bloggers together, along
with IT companies, to generate new
ideas and solve existing problems
faced by bloggers today. The
blogosphere is bursting with new ideas
and we want to make sure they are
heard. There are over 200 participants
here and we may make this an annual
affair, if it works. Maybe someone
else will take the responsibility of
continuing the Blog Camp next year."
Bloggers also participated in the Blog
camp via You-Tube, Slideshare and
Skype.
One of the participants was a web
start up, 'Purplenova' which wanted to
reach out to bloggers to create
awareness about its product, 'software
that converts a PC into a web server.'
Another participant, Melody, a keen
blogger since 2002 said, "Blogging has
given birth to a strong offline
community and is helping people form
strong bonds with each other. Ofcourse,
there are challenges such as |

|
‘flaming’ and stalking, but we have to
come up with ways to handle it." She
added, "There is a need for more
acknowledgement and recognition for
the Blogosphere, especially in India,
but we are definitely moving in the
right direction. Bloggers are now
being taken more seriously, with many
turning professional, and making good
money out of it. We even have blog
awards such as the ‘ India Bloggies’
for the best Indian blogs, so yes,
we’ve made a start."
The day ended with a debate between
traditional media and Blogs and
impromptu interactive sessions on
various topics, including one on
'Dummies Guide to Blogging'.
