News: QuantumID Technologies, a
Boston-based pure horizontal RFID
player, is bringing commercial RFID
applications for the Indian market.
The company is investing $1 million to
set up a research and design facility
here to address the domestic market
requirements.
“RFID
is moving from the early-adoption
stage to the next level of growth.
Quantum has developed technology for
customers with a need to store,
update, authenticate and transmit
information securely on RFID labels
without the need to have batteries,”
Milind Tavshikar, CEO, QuantumID
Technologies, said.
So far, the technology has been
restricted to passive labels.“The
Indian market is very price
sensitive”. Doing this in India, which
is the most scalable and efficient
market, will give us an advantage,”
Tavshikar said.
