Fiat to invest over Rs. 2,300 crore in
Pune unit |

Pune News: Fiat India Automobiles will
invest Rs. 2,341 crore more at its existing
Ranjangaon facility in Pune to ramp up its
capacity. With this investment, the company
is taking the overall investment in Pune to
Rs. 4,020 crore. Fiat India is a 50:50 joint
venture between Tata Motors and Fiat Group
Automobiles. |

for the second week with rumour mills abuzz

24.31-acre land belonging to India Financial
Association (IFA) of the Seventh Day
Adventists (SDA) will be registered on

Pune Property News: The Pune Municipal
Corporation’s land acquisition department
has created a record of sorts by acquiring
as much as 6.15 lakh square meter land in
one year (2007-08). This is much more that
the 4.76 lakh square metre of land acquired
by the civic body during the four-year
period (2003-2007) before that. In terms of
the number of properties acquired, 159 were
acquired in the four-year period and 421 in
2007-08. |

Pune News: The sixth Pune
international film festival (Piff) will kick
off at Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch on
January 10 in the presence of celebrities
from the world of cinema. A statement
released on Tuesday by the Piff organising
committee said that registration for the
mega event will start from January 3. The
venues are E-Square, Inox, Ganesh Kala
Kreeda Rangmanch and National Film Archives

Couple found dead in Pune |

Pune News: Twenty-year-old Devi
Shingade, who was pregnant, and her husband
Nilesh (27) were found dead under mysterious
circumstances in their house at Kharalwadi
in Pimpri on early Monday morning. Prima
facie the Pimpri police suspect it to be a
case of suicide. Nilesh's father, Narayan
and his brother Shrinivas rushed them to a
nearby private nursing home, which referred
the case to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial
Hospital (YCMH). The authorities at YCMH
pronounced the couple as 'brought dead'. |

decided to set up an automotive paints plant
in Pune for a cost of Rs 50 crore.
Automotive paints have a 30 per cent share
in the Rs 11,000-crore domestic paints
market, and the company wants to win a
